Muscato Covid-19 Response Proposal
Muscato, Announces New Emergency Plan for Arizonans Impacted by the Coronavirus
The campaign for Michael Muscato has announced a new coronavirus emergency plan to help families, contract and hourly workers, gig employees and small businesses impacted by the pandemic. It’s a blueprint of what Muscato would propose in Congress.
Muscato proposes the federal government immediately:
- freeze all debt payments
- provide small businesses access to 0% interest loans equal to up to one-third of their 2019 revenue.
- $4,000 dollar check to gig, contract, and hourly workers not currently covered under federal protection.
As a business owner with employees, Muscato says this emergency Coronavirus plan will save jobs and support workers and families through this time of uncertainty.
“My plan brings immediate relief to families, hourly workers and small business owners,” said Muscato. “Now is not the time to spend months debating and bickering in Congress only to inevitably direct money to corporate bailouts.. Arizonans need relief now, and my proposal brings immediate financial support to where it is needed most: people and small businesses.. It’s a plan that can also help other states getting hit with the pandemic. This is a collective effort we must see from our leadership.”
Democratic Candidate Michael Muscato Announces New Congressional District 8 Task Force to Help Arizonans Impacted by the Coronavirus
The campaign for Michael Muscato has announced a new Congressional District 8 Task Force to help unite and support Arizonans directly impacted by the Coronavirus.
The CD8 Task Force will work with the Valley View Community Food Bank to assist seniors by picking up and delivering groceries and prescription medications. The task force is assigned to help seniors avoid exposure of coronavirus from others in the community. These are volunteers who would typically be helping with voter outreach.
Arizona's 8th Congressional District is home to one of the most at risk populations for Coronavirus. More than 20 percent of Arizona’s District 8 population is over 65 years old, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Muscato says we need to unite as a community and protect our parents and grandparents, making sure they have what they need to survive this pandemic.
“Now more than ever, critical thinking and leadership is most important,” says Muscato. “This isn’t about politics or campaigning for Congress. All Politics are local …. I’m born and raised here. I’m here for my hometown in this time of need."
The Eighth Congressional District covers parts of Sun City, Peoria, New River, Goodyear and Northwest Phoenix in Maricopa County. It includes Luke Air Force Base.
How to Volunteer or Recieve Help
Muscato says anyone who wants to volunteer can call 623-850-3294 or go to www.muscato4congress.com/cd8-task-force.
Seniors who are in need of help or assistance can also call that number and the campaign will assign a volunteer to help. The online help request form will be answered within 24 hours. Below is the screen options those in need or wanting to help will see on the website.
“The purpose of this campaign and the task force is to show the community of Arizona that we are looking out for their best interest,” says Muscato. “I implore all senate democrats and republicans to do the same. Leaders must come together and put the communities of Arizona first and party loyalties second.”
